You will probably see a referrer, and if you look at that referrer you'll probably see a link to the domain that's redirecting over to your site. If you want to build the SEO value of your main site while building some components on a different domain name, you might want to redirect only certain pages of the other domain to your main site rather than redirecting the entire domain all at once.
